Sir Henry de Bold was lineally descended from Gilber, fourth Baron of Kendal; this Gilbert being eight in descent from Ethelfleda, a daughter of Alfred the Great. Hence through the marriage of Alice Harrington and Ralphe de Standih, their descendants have a double line of descent from Alfred the Great.1982
