He came as a passenger on the Arabella to Salem, MA (part of the Winthrop Fleet) and settled in
Watertown, MA in 1630.721

Religious history - In 1629, was prosecuted in England for refusing to kneel at communion. There were proceedings against him in Watertown, as well. In 1651 he and Thomas Arnold were fined 20s each for an offence against the laws concerning baptisms. Apr 1654, he was fined for neglect of public worship, 14 sabbaths, 5s each. Mar 1658/9 he was warned for not attending public worship but was not in town. May 1661 his house was ordered to be searched for Quakers. But he never gave up his church membership and "died at peace with his church doctrines.", 722, 718

He was made a freeman on 18 May 1631.718

In 1636 he was chosen selectman of Watertown and served through 1640. In 1635 he was chosen for a committee to lay out the highways. In 1647 he was chosen for a committee to divide the land., 718

Came to New England in 1630 and settled in Watertown, Middlesex, MA. He was made a freeman in 1631, was a selectman 1636-40 and a commisioner for laying out roads in the town.
In Oct 1651 he was fined twenty shillings for not complying with the law relating to baptism, and in 1661, his was one of the houses ordered searched for Quakers.719
