Military notes for Nason (Spouse 1)
He was a soldier in the American Revolution. He enlisted May 3, 1775 as a Private
in Captain Robert Ford's Company and on November 5, 1776 was serving at Kittery Point, Maine. On January 1, 1776 he joined Captain Tilton's Company as a Private. Capt. Tilton's Company was part of Colonel Poor's Regiment of New Hampshire.

On March 27, 1776, Private Nason Lord was reported as having deserted. At this time he was age 28, had a dark complection, and had a crooked leg. He enlisted again on January 1, 1777 as a Private in Captain Merrill's Company, but discharged in July 1777. Nason reenlisted, but again deserted in October, 1777, shortly before his Army unit departed for Valley Forge.

“He was brought before Nath. Wells, Esquire, muster master for the County of York, who has dismissed him and let him go."
Notes for Nason (Spouse 1)
He was living in Cranberry Meadows in 1778. He sold his land to Samuel Clements and moved to Alfred, ME. By the 1790 census he was in Waterboro.

Perhaps due to poor management of his affairs, Nason lost all or most of his property late in life, and he and Hannah wandered from place to place. Finally, they went to Naples, Maine with their sons. (This part of town was formerly known as Otisfield.) In their old age, Nason and Hannah lived in the household of their son, Samuel.
