Notes for William Haskell
William Haskell 1644-1708 owned a large grist mill and a saw mill in what is now Rockport, MA. The mills went eventually to his son, William 1670-1730/31, who continued to operate them. In May 1690, he and his brother Mark received permission and erected a saw mill on Walker's Creek.
1571William's birth is recorded in the Vital Records of Gloucester, Massachusetts, v1, p330, but he was born on land ("Planter's Neck") that is now part of the town of Annisquam, MA.

Notes for Mary (Spouse 1)
Mary Brown was her birth name. She changed her surname to Walker after the marriage of her mother to Henry Walker, her mother's third marriage. She is referred to in genealogical writings and records as either Mary Walker, Mary Brown, Mary Brown-Walker, or Mary Walker/Brown.
