The family moved from Sandwhich MA to Fairfield ME in 1782-1783.

“Ebenezer Allen Jr. of Sandwich appointed guardian to Joseph Allen of Sandwich, Feb 4 1769 [Barnstable County Probate Records, 1686-1816. v. 13, p. 408-409]. Inventory of estate of Joseph Allen of Sandwich, declared "non compos" and under guardianship of brother Ebenezer Allen, includes note in possesion of Samuel Wing not payable until the death of his (Joseph's?) father Judah Allen of Dartmouth, affirmed by Ebenezer being a Quaker 27 Feb 1769, dated Feb 21 1769 [Barnstable County Probate Records, 1686-1816. v. 13, p. 448]. Ebenezer Allen 2d of Sandwich yeoman guardian to brother Joseph Allen an NCM of Sandwich, by order ct. Wednesday preceeding 3rd Tuesday of May 1770, for £80/15s, to Jonathan Shearman Jr. of Dartmouth house carpenter, 33 acres 84 rods in Dartmouth & access to watering by Gates Bars in Thomas Russell's land by deed from Judah Allen to his son Joshua Allen, dated 18 Sep 1770, Ebenezer 2d ack. 18 Sep 1770, recorded 21 Feb 1772 [Bristol Co. deeds, Southern District, New Bedford, v. 1-40, transcripts of Taunton deeds, 1687-1837, v. 9, p. 206-207; also Bristol Co. He was probably the father of Caleb and Ebenezer, based on land sales between both Ebenezers and Caleb and the name Harper used in generations of both families.
