"Le Drapour" of Brittany, 11th century weaver and clothfuller, followed William the Conqueror to England.  He settled in Stansfield in the West Riding section of Yorkshire and was a pioneer of the textile industry in that district.  At least one of each succeeding generation followed in the textile industry.
