On 18 January 1643 her father apprenticed her to Thomas and Winifred Whitney until she was twenty years old. The letter mentioned that she had been 6 years old the 16th of Sept. last past - so we have her date of birth. It instructed them to raise her; teaching her the arts of reading, writing and sewing689
